CHURROS
Ingredients
2 T. Vegetable Oil
1 T. Sugar, plus 2/3 C. to roll Churros in
Salt
1 C. Flour
½ t. Cinnamon
Vegetable Oil for Deep Frying
Procedure
Mix together the 2/3 C. Sugar and Cinnamon. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine the Oil, 1 T. Sugar, and ½ t. Salt with 1 C. Water.
Bring up to a boil, remove from the heat and stir in the Flour until it comes into a ball.
Let it cool down.
In a heavy, deep pan, heat enough Oil to come to 1" depth. Heat to 375
To form, either use a cookie press or a heavy pastry bag fit with a star tip. Form into 5" long cylinders. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked inside.
Roll in the sugar and cinnamon mix.
