HOT SPICED TEA 
(Makes 8 servings)

Ingredients 
6 cups water 
2 ½ inches fresh ginger – unpeeled 
6 tea bags – black tea 
2 cinnamon sticks 
12 whole cloves 
4 cardamom pods 
4 cups low fat milk 
½ cup honey

Procedure 
1. Bring water to a boil with the 2 ½ inch fresh ginger pieces halved. 
2. Simmer for 8 minutes. 
3. Add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, cloves and whole cardamom pods. 
4. Add milk and steep for 6 minutes. 
5. Strain through sieve and discard solids. 
6. Stir in honey and divide among mugs.
